A simple test for choosing your first AI project: how often the task happens, what a mistake costs, and who will own it. With examples of good and bad first picks.
The first AI project decides whether your team believes in the next one. Pick something flashy that fails and you will hear “we tried AI” for a year. Pick something boring that works and they will start bringing you ideas. If you are earlier than that, start with where AI actually fits a small business.
If a task scores well on all three, start there.
Two weeks. One task. One owner. Write down how long the task takes before you start and after. At the end, keep it, fix it or drop it. Then pick the next one.
A task that happens often, is cheap to get wrong, and has one person who owns it. Customer replies and after-hours questions are common good picks.
Two weeks is enough to know whether it works.
Often not. Bring in help when the task touches your phones, website and records together, or when the first try did not stick.
A 15 minute call. We will tell you which one we would pick and why.
